Alternative to Tomato Soup and Cheese Sandwiches

Today I want to talk about tomato soup! Yes, you heard me right, tomato soup. There are so many varieties to pick from when you are in the store. What do you usually use tomato soup for, cheese sandwiches, drink or as an ingredient in a recipe?

When I was growing up my mother tried something different than the same old dunking your cheese sandwich in the tomato soup. So today I will give you my mother alternative to cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. This quick and easy recipe is nice for leftover tomato soup or a whole can of tomato soup that can be used for the whole family.

What you will Need

Bread of any variety (toasted)                       Tomato soup already diluted
Cheese of any variety                                     Onions chopped and sautéed
1 large bowl                                                    Plates
Toaster

1.       First, take a can of tomato soup and dilute it. Stir well. Add extra Basil if you like.

2.       Depending on how much soup you have ad cheese of any variety. If you are using a full can of soup I add 1 to 1 ½ cups of cheese.

3.       Place this all in a large bowl and microwave on high until all the cheese is almost melted. Stir very well to mix your cheese and tomato soup together. Add your sauteed onions and basil if desired.

4.       Next, toast any variety of bread and lay them onto a plate.

5.       Pour your tomato, cheese, onion, and basil mixture over your toast.

6.       Enjoy a different cheesy tomato soup over toast.
7.
This recipe is great for the whole family or if you just have a little left over soup you want to use up for one. This was always a favorite of our whole family. This is something quick and easy to make and fairly cheap to make. Finding something the whole family likes can be challenging at times but this is a delicious alternative to just plain old tomato soup and cheese sandwiches. This is something warm to make on a cold winters day. I hope you enjoy my tomato cheesy soup on toast from Suzie Homemaker.

Edible Easter Bunnies

Today I want to show you how to make a fun Easter treat the whole family will love. This would be a great project for your children or Grandchildren to make. When my children were younger we made these to take to school for an Easter treat.

Edible Easter Bunnies

1.
First, you need to boil some eggs.
2.       Let your eggs cool before peeling them.
3.       Cut them in half and take out the yoke.
4.       Put the yoke in a little dish and mash and add Miracle Whip, just like you are making deviled eggs.
5.       Take some small carrot sticks and slice them thin.
6.       Take some green of purple grapes and cut them in half.
7.       Grate up any variety of cheese, just a small amount.

There are two ways to make these edible Easter Bunnies and I will show you how to make both of them.
1.       First, cut your eggs in half and take out the yoke.
2.       Turn the egg upside down.
3.       Place your sliced carrots under the eggs for the ears.

4.       Place the cut in half grapes on the egg for eyes.
5.       Take a few pieces of grated cheese and make whiskers below the eyes.
Now you have an edible Easter Bunny.
You can use just about any fruit or vegetable for your eyes and ears.

The second Edible Easter Bunny is a little different and uses the yoke made like a deviled egg.
1.       First, cut your egg in half and take out the yoke.
2.       Take the yoke and smash it up and add your Miracle Whip.
3.       Taking the mashed egg and Miracle whip put it inside your egg facing up.
4.       Take your sliced carrots for ears and stick them into the very top of your mashed eggs with Miracle Whip.
5.       Place your cut in half grapes just below the ears for your eyes.
6.       Take some of your grated cheese and make whiskers just below your eyes.
Now you have the second edible Easter Bunny.

Easter is a time to get together with family and friends, why not make it fun for the whole family. These edible Easter Bunnies took less than 30 minutes to make. Wouldn’t these be fun to place on the table at Easter for a nice decoration? Have your children or grandchildren help make these and let them get creative with the fruits and vegetables. I hope you like my edible Easter Bunnies from Suzie Homemaker.

Healthy Halloween Snacks Part II

Welcome back to another Halloween Treat Day. I hope everyone enjoyed my healthy treat last week. This week I would like to add another healthy Halloween treat that your children and grandchildren will enjoy eating and making. This time of year is so much fun for everybody, so let’s make some more healthy treats.

What you will need

Mushrooms (whole any size)                                          Cheese slices (Kraft is what I used)
Food coloring                                                                    Cheese sliced thin (Cheddar or Colby)
Crackers that are round or oval (Ritz or Town House crackers or any generic found cracker)
Cheese spread                                                                     Knife

Mushroom Halloween Treats

1.       First, take your mushrooms and wash and dry them.

2.
Next draw a face on your mushroom, with the tip of your knife dip it into the food coloring and draw a face on your mushroom. Now you have a little mushroom pumpkin.

3.
If you do not want a whole mushroom take the mushroom and slice it so it looks like little this thin pumpkin slices. Again dip the tip of your knife into the food coloring and make a face on your mushroom slices to look like a pumpkin.

4.       To make it extra fancy put some cheese spread on a cracker and then put one of your sliced mushrooms with a face painted on them on top of your cracker. Now you have a little pumpkin –mushroom on your cracker.

Cheese Halloween Treats

1.       Take a cheese slice like Kraft singles and cut out a shape of a pumpkin.

2.       With the tip of a knife draw a face on with your food coloring.

3.       If you do not have any cheese slices just cut a thin slice of Colby or Cheddar cheese and repeat the same process as in example number One.

4.
To make these extra fancy try placing one of your mushroom slices that look like a pumpkin on top of your cheese or cheese slices.

Let your children and grandchildren be creative and make their own designs and faces. Mix and match these Halloween pumpkins with cheese or crackers to make a fun and healthy Halloween snack. This would be a fun treat for the kids to take to school or a nice treat for the office. These Halloween snacks are very inexpensive to make. Let’s get creative without breaking the bank and have fun in the process from Suzie Homemaker.
