Cleaning Stained Coffee Mugs and More

                Today I am doing another cleaning project. Instead of calling it Spring Cleaning, I call it Fall cleaning. Two to three times a year I clean out my kitchen cupboards.  Then I scrub down the shelves and donate to Good Will what I do not need or want anymore. Then I clean the outside of my cupboards with a cleaner for cupboards and wood. Today I am going to give you some easy tips on cleaning your coffee mugs and the outside of your cupboards.

Dirty Coffee Mugs

              

  Let’s start by pulling out all those coffee mugs that are stained from coffee and tea stains. Don’t throw them away just because they have stains.  I have a very cheap and easy way to clean them.

Take some Baking Soda and add a little water to make a paste, rub a little around inside of your coffee mugs and let sit for a couple of minutes. Then take a damp dishcloth or sponge and wipe out the stain. This paste takes out the coffee and tea stains very easy with very little effort.

For pennies, you have a nice new looking and clean mug you don’t have to throw out. Baking Soda cleans so many things around the house.

Wood Cupboard Cleaning

                Your wood cupboards need to be cleaned and oiled several times a year or they will dry out and look dull and old. I oil and clean my cupboards 3 to 4 times a year to keep them looking clean and new. When we upgraded our cupboards in our old farmhouse, instead of buying new ones we decided to reface them. For all the cupboards we replaced in our house it would have cost us over $25,000 thousand dollars. We thought this was outrages so we decided to reface them instead. Refacing means that you keep the inside original and the doors and handles are replaced with new wood cupboards. We used Kitchen Refacers, they refaced my kitchen cupboards, pantry cupboards, laundry cupboards, bathroom cupboards, and my entryway cupboards. They refaced all of these cupboards for a little over $5,000 thousand dollars and got the whole job done in a day. My cupboards look just like the expensive cupboards. To keep them clean I use a lemon oil to keep them looking clean and new. There are several kinds of products you can use on wood cupboards, just look on the cleaning isles of your local store. The oil based ones are the best to keep your cupboards looking new.

                Cleaning your coffee and tea mugs don't have to cost a fortune when all you need is a little Baking Soda and water. Don’t throw them away, cleaning them is easy. Cleaning you cupboards is easy also, just wipe down with an oil based cleaner form your local store. These products are fairly cheap and easy to use and find.
