How many of you hate commercials? I know I sure do! Today I would like to talk to you about your T.V. viewing. How many times during your favorite T.V. show do get stopped to watch a commercial? I don’t know about you, but I hate to be sold something every 5 to 10 minutes. This makes it so hard to follow your T.V. show you are watching, and I hate commercials. Our family used to have cable T.V. but this was becoming so expensive so we canceled it. We found cable T.V. to be boring because they show the same movies over and over again. We as a family decided to become a cord cutter. So today I am going to tell you what we decided as a family to do to cut costs on T.V. and view fewer commercials.
The first thing we did was drop cable and went to straight local T.V. only, saving over $75.00 dollars a month. We decided to get Netflix instead of cable. We only pay $8.99 a month. Netflix has all kinds of movies and T.V. shows that you can pick from commercial free. We have 4 different accounts that we set up so each person can have their own selection of movies and T.V. shows they want. You can watch any movie or T.V. show you like at any time of the day. Knowing we don’t have to be sold something every time we turn on the T.V. was a major plus. Getting rid of cable has made our T.V. viewing time a lot less because most days the T.V. doesn’t go on till after supper.
Another good online streaming platform is Amazon Prime. This platform cost $10.99 a month or $99.00 dollars a year. They also have a lot of movies and T.V. shows to pick from commercial free. One thing I like about Amazon Prime is they have free shipping for all your packages which is a major plus. Since my husband has a business this pays for itself each year for us.
How many of you have kids who like to listen to music? Mine would listen to music all day long if they could. Buying music online or from any other source can get very expensive. If you have a smart T.V. that hooks up to the internet, check out Pandora. My kids love this and it even has music that mom and dads can listen too also. Why should you pay for music when you can have it right at your fingertips.
Having movies and T.V. show when you want them doesn’t have to cost a fortune or break the bank. Instead of paying over $800.00 dollars a year we now pay about $250.00 dollars a year. By being a cord cutter we as a family have more time together. Finding ways to save money is a great way to save for your future. Cutting cable saved us a bundle and we will never go back, from the house of Suzie Homemaker.
